1. Halloween Costume Workout
Saturday, October 31 · 9:00 AM · at Tectonic
Halloween lands on a Saturday this year, so we're working out in "anything but gym clothes."
Dust off the costume or just wear random goofy stuff, and bring the energy!
2. "Test Week" Finale
Big output time 😤
And big fun! Test Week programming, from Monday, November 2 to Friday, November 6, will lean into performance over building.
Testing helps quantify progress and sets up for future percentage work.
Take heed: Going for a max is for data and can be risky.
Luckily, guesstimating from a 1-rep or 5-rep at near-maximal loads (85%+) provides a useful estimate of a 1RM or 5RM for percentage work.
3. Literate Lifters Book Club Recap: Euphoria by Lily King. 🗓️Next Meet: November 9th
This month, our book club took a journey into the world of anthropology with Euphoria by Lily King!
While we all agreed that the setting and premise were fascinating, we were left wanting a little more. We would have loved a meatier story with a deeper exploration of the local cultures and traditions that made the setting so intriguing.
Our group rating: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ (3/5)
An interesting read with plenty of potential, but one that didn't quite leave us as captivated as we'd hoped. Still, another great evening of books, conversation, and good company!
Our next meeting will be on November 9th at 6:30 to discuss The God of the Woods by Liz Moore at Oak Tree Station.
4. Just the Sides Thanksgiving
Members are invited to bring a favorite, or a new Thanksgiving side dish to share. It’s an opportunity to try a new recipe before the big Thanksgiving meal. Afterwards, we will post the recipes on our website to share! Only bring a dish to share if it brings you joy…if you just want to sample…we want to see you too!
Date/Time: Saturday, 11/21 | 6:00-8:30 pm
Location: Tectonic Gym
Questions: Coach Erica
5. Gratitude Wall: Thankful For...
The thankful wall is back for November. Grab a sticky note, finish the sentence and stick it up. A new prompt each week:
Week 1: Thankful for…everyday magic.
Week 2: Thankful for…people who lift me up.
Week 3: Thankful for…what my body can do.
Week 4: Thankful for…little victories.

Coach Brian Fogg may add a weeknight Practical Self-Defense class on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday evening, in addition to Sunday mornings. It would start with a six-week trial in mid-January, right after the 6:15 class. It’s free for everyone during the trial, so bring a friend.
